Well, its been a little while since we’ve produced a newsletter and we thought that you’d enjoy hearing all the cool things that have been happening in Line Up world including new developments in Surfboards, Our Teamriders, Line Up Surf School as well as some Travel Specials.

What's New in Surfboard Land?

Line Up Master Craftsman Col Ladhams; has been up to his old tricks and a few new ones!

While Col has been consistently pumping out tried and true high performance shortboards for many of our team riders and customers he has also been experimenting in the realm of Parabolic Rail Technology (Similar to Firewire principles) for both Line Up and Warner Surfboards. With excellent Feedback from Lineup teamriders including Jack Rankin and Robert Fagan, these new boards have incredible strength, hold and drive and have already performed exceptionally well in Good Quality Waves such 5ft Monawatu Barrels and 6-8ft+ Dee Why Point.

Pedigree shaper Dave Woods has been producing quite a few boards for us recently and has shaped under world renowned hawaiian shaper John Carper (JC). Dave also shapes boards for a lot of the top guys like Mick Fanning, Joel Parkinson, Andy Irons, Roy Powers and CJ Hobgood to name a few and we are honoured to have him on the team pumping out more great shapes for us leading into Summer and the 2009 season!

Line Up Teamriders

  1. Sam Watson has just returned from surfing in Canada, brrrrr.........
  2. Congratulations to Tara Ryan has just signed a new freesurfing deal with Quiksilver/Roxy
  3. Matt Angelis is currently ripping up indo with the Bra Boys on a bunch of new sticks
  4. New Teamriders – Welcome Jack Rankin from Dee Why and Josh Overgaauw from Tassie to the team. Jack has recently appeared on both Swellnet & Realsurf websites (See photos in Surfboard Land) and Josh got 4th in the Tassie State Titles and has been selected to compete in the National Titles later in the year so well done lads!

Surf Travel News

Line Up will be hosting Waves Surfing Magazine ‘Black Knight II’ competition at Maninoa Samoa Surf Camp, Keep an eye out for December edition of waves with feature story and DVD. You’ll also be a able to see this on Fuel TV in the near future.

We will also be hosting Flying Fish Productions who will be filming a new surfing movie in the Maldives called ‘Locked In’. This will be for the big screen with real surf action and will also include actors from Channel Nine’s ‘Underbelly’.
